Set out on a private 10-day safari in the famed northern Tanzanian wilderness, known for its untamed beauty, incredible creatures, and decadent safari experiences. This safari takes you through the vast Serengeti plains, the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, and the elephant-rich Tarangire National Park, providing unsurpassed scenic diversity and up-close encounters with Africa’s famous Big Five.

Tanzania is at its most captivating when you sip champagne as the sun sets over the Serengeti or watch a lion hunt its prey on the golden savannah.

Tanzania hosts the second largest terrestrial mammal migration, the Great Wildebeest Migration, which is one of the 7 natural wonders in Africa and one of the 10 natural wonders in the world at large. The wildebeest migration climax is during the river crossing, where mammal grazers try to cross the crocodile-infested river, lying underwater in a long wait to catch their prey. The wildebeest migration river crossing in August moves north, passing through the Lobo area (north of Central Serengeti National Park) and the Wagakuria area (remote northern Serengeti National Park along the Mara River) en route to Kenya’s Maasai Mara Game Reserve.

Detailed itinerary for the 10-day Northern Tanzania Exclusive Luxury Safari.

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to Arusha.

Upon your arrival to Tanzania, you will be warmly welcomed by our professional English-speaking safari guide who will then transfer you to your already booked accommodation in Arusha. You will then check in to your hotel, where you will have your lunch, dinner, and an overnight stay.

3-Day Tanzania Safari | Tarangire, Ngorongoro & Lake Manyara Tour

Your safari guide will brief you about your 10-day exclusive Northern Tanzania safari, and if time permits, you can make a city tour in Arusha before sunset and then head back to the hotel for dinner and an overnight.

Day 2: Fly from Arusha to Tarangire National Park.

Following breakfast, depart with your private safari guide for Tarangire National Park, known for its vast elephant herds and towering baobab trees. Settle into Kuro Tarangire Camp, your private base in the heart of the wilderness. In the afternoon, take an initial game drive through the park’s diverse landscapes.

Kuro Tarangire Safari Camp

The largest groups of elephants and the unique baobab trees make Tarangire stand out. There are also lions, leopards, and many kinds of birds that live here. Drive through the park on an exciting game drive and enjoy a picnic lunch in the middle of nature. You will continue going to Kuro Tarangire Safari Camp after lunch.

Day 3: Transfer to Lake Manyara National Park.

After the morning breakfast, you will check out at the lodge and enjoy a morning game drive through the park while on your way to Lake Manyara National Park. On arrival in Lake Manyara National Park, you will have a simple evening game drive and then transfer to your lodge for dinner. After dinner, you will have a night spotlighting game drive in the park and then go back to the lodge for the overnight.

Lake Manyara provides the perfect introduction to Tanzania’s bird life. Even a first-time visitor to Africa might reasonably expect to observe more than 400 species in one day. Inland of the floodplain, a narrow belt of acacia woodland is the favored haunt of Manyara’s legendary tree-climbing lions, and impressively tusked elephants are  expected to be seen.

Day 4_5: Transfer from Lake Manyara and Explore Ngorongoro Crater.

Depart after breakfast for an extended morning game drive in  Lake  Manyara National Park, and in the afternoon, drive to Ngorongoro for the evening  Ngorongoro Crater rim walk. At dawn, check in to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

After an early breakfast, we will venture into what is undoubtedly one of the ‘Natural Wonders of the World,’ the Ngorongoro Crater.  Large herds of zebra and wildebeest graze while sleeping lions laze in the sun.  The endangered black rhino spends the early hours grazing on dew-laden grass before returning to the thick cover of the crater forests.

Lunch will be served in the Crater flow, followed by an afternoon game drive, which will be full of mesmerizing creatures like the remaining large tusker elephants in Africa. You will also enjoy nocturnal animals waking up to start hunting before returning to the manor in the late afternoon.

Day 6&7: Explore Central Serengeti.

You will enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the lodge on the crater rim and then depart for a game drive en route to Central Serengeti. You will have a full-day game drive in the central part of Serengeti National Park, the Seronera. You will have lunch in the middle of nowhere as you watch thousands of wildlife surrounding you

You will see a million wildebeest along with other grazing animals, all following their natural instincts in a cycle of life: a hectic three-week period of fighting for territory and mating; only the strongest survive as long lines of animals cross crocodile-filled waters during their yearly journey north; this leads to a quick increase in their numbers, with over 8,000 calves born each day before the 1,000 km (600 miles) journey starts all over again.

Day 8-9: Explore Northern Serengeti.

After breakfast, you will head to the north of the Serengeti for a full-day game drive in the wilderness, tracking the Great Migration trails.

Day 10: Fly from Serengeti back to Arusha.

Following breakfast, you are invited to join one of our guides on a walking safari along the banks of the Grumeti River.  After a leisurely lunch, you will once again take to the road for a game drive en route to the airstrip for the return flight to Arusha and then transfer to the airport for a return flight.  During the flight, you will see, from the air, the ever-changing landscape of the bush and mountainous topography that reminds us of Tanzania’s violent geological past.
