Detailed Itinerary of the 4-days Maasai Mara Great Wildebeest Migration safari (Day by Day)
Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi and Transfer to Maasai Mara National Reserve.
Your transfer to the Masai Mara National Reserve will begin with a pickup at your hotel and will take place via the scenic Great Rift Valley. At the Great Rift Valley lookout, you can get images of the ancient Rift Valley escarpment.
The Masai Mara is a portion of the Serengeti Mara Eco system, which is renowned for its enormous annual wildebeest migration and hosts the Africa’s Big Five: Rhino, buffalo, lion, elephant, and leopard. This is the day of your first game drive in Kenya. The following day, you’ll be ready for a full day of game driving after this. Afterwards, you’ll make your way back to the lodge where you’ll have dinner and spend the night.
Day 2&3: Full Day Game Drive in Maasai Mara
Your full-day game drives will always start after breakfast, so make sure you bring your packed lunch.
The amazing meeting with the animals keeps going. There are lots of groups of herbivores on the plains, but cheetahs and leopards are always hiding in the dark. Masai Mara is the centre of Kenya’s tourism industry. It is home to over 400 species of birds and many more species of mammals, amphibians, and reptiles.
The wildlife in Africa is so diverse that almost all tourists will see the “Big Five” the buffalo, the elephant, the leopard, the lion, and the rhino. You will have your packed lunch at the Mara River migration point. The picnic area adjacent to the Mara River migration will be designated as the location for midday meals. You will enjoy this wildlife reserve for your next day, you may either decide to do a Maasai village visit or a Hot Air balloon Safari
After your picnic lunch, you will relax because you have a game drive planned for late afternoon and into the night. You can go back to the lodge for the night and dinner.
Day 4: Transfer back to Nairobi
Early in the morning, there will be a game drive to find wildlife, predators hunting to feed and kill. You’ll go back to the lodge after breakfast and then leave the lodge or camp. You’ll leave for Nairobi while having a picnic lunch. When you get to Nairobi, you can choose where you want to be dropped off either at the Airport or at the lodge.
