During this 15-day safari through East and Southern Africa, you will trek the mountain gorillas in the Virunga Massif of Northeastern Rwanda, combined with endless game drives in Kenya’s legendary Masai Mara and awe-inspiring Victoria Falls on the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe. The safari will start in Kenya’s Maasai Mara National Reserve for the Great Wildebeest Migration and then take you by plane to Kigali, Rwanda, which is often called the Land of a Thousand Hills. Among the many must-see attractions in Rwanda are the country’s Volcanoes National Park, its Batwa communities, where you can immerse yourself in Rwandan culture, and its genocide memorials, where you can learn about the country’s tragic history as a victim of the 1994 genocide. You will travel to Zambia after your visit to Rwanda so that you can see the world-famous Victoria Falls from both the Zambian and Zimbabwean perspectives.
