Detailed itinerary of the Luxury Kenya & Tanzania Safari: Maasai Mara, Serengeti & Ngorongoro (Day by Day)

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Maasai Mara.

Upon arrival, you will be picked up from the hotel /airport very early in the morning by our guide, who will brief you and drive you to Masai Mara National Reserve past Athi Plains.  Along your way, you will see the traditional Maasai houses as you approach the Masai Mara.

On arrival, you will have lunch and then proceed for a game-viewing drive in search of the park residents. Later, return to the camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 2: Full Day Safari in Maasai Mara National Reserve.

Enjoy your early morning breakfast at your lodge, then drive to the park for a full-day game drive with a packed lunch. After lunch, depending on your program, you will either have an option for a morning or  afternoon game drive where you will see a number of animals such as buffalos, giraffes, and so many others. You will also have the chance of seeing the cats and the biggest mammals, wildebeests.

 

Dinner and your overnight stay are at the camp.

Day 3: Masai Mara to Lake Nakuru National Park

Enjoy your breakfast very early in the morning  and drive to Lake Nakuru from Masai Mara National Reserve, arriving in time for lunch. Enjoy your lunch at the hotel and then proceed for an afternoon game drive in search of the wildlife. If you are lucky, you can see rhinos and many other animals. Dinner and your overnight stay are at the hotel.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru to Amboseli National Park

Enjoy your breakfast and embark on your journey to Nakuru in the morning and drive to Amboseli. Arrive in time for lunch at the camp.  Proceed for an afternoon game drive in search of wildlife. Amboseli offers the best view of the highest mountain in Africa.

Dinner and your overnight stay at the camp.

Day 5: Full day Safari in Amboseli National Park.

Enjoy your breakfast and embark on your journey to Amboseli National Park, where you will have a full day in the park with morning and afternoon game-viewing drives. Additionally, you can go on a full-day game drive in search of the park residents, such as the lions, buffaloes, antelopes, warthogs, wildebeests, and elephants, as well as the view of Africa’s highest mountain if the weather permits. All meals and your overnight stay are at Elewana Tortilis Camp.

Day 6: Amboseli National Park and Drive to Arusha (Tanzania)

Enjoy your breakfast and embark on your journey to Amboseli National Park, passing through  the Namanga border, where you will exchange vehicles and proceed with your journey to Tanzania. Have a stopoverfor your Lunch enroute  at the hotel in Arusha. Arrive in Arusha and check in at the hotel. In the afternoon, rest at the hotel. Dinner and your overnight stay are at the Gran Melia Arusha.

Day 7: Transfer from Arusha to Tarangire National Park.

After enjoying your breakfast, embark on your journey  to Tarangire National Park. You will drive past the Karatu plantations toward Tarangire. Arrive in the afternoon, enjoy your lunch, then continue with your game drive, where you will have the opportunity to see a number of animals. Later, have a drive back to the camp for dinner and your overnight stay at Mbali Mbali Tarangire.

Day 8: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park.

Enjoy your breakfast and embark on your journey from Tarangire Drive  to Serengeti.  Serengeti national park  is the largest park in Tanzania with the best ecosystem to support wildlife. This is where the annual migrations begin every year. It borders Masai Mara in Kenya, and it is in between these two parks that the migration takes place. Although there are no interconnecting gates between these two parks, you will drive for, like, 6 hours to connect to them.

You will enjoy dinner and your overnight stay at your lodge.

Day 9: Serengeti National Park -Ngorongoro Crater.

After enjoying your breakfast, embark on your journey to  Ngorongoro crater   with your  packed lunch, where you will have a chance to explore the crater for good hours. This crater is the largest volcano  in the world, about 14 km. The rim is surrounded by a ring of extinct volcanoes. The floor is dotted with waterholes that host over 30,000 species of animals and birds. Later, drive to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 10: Ngorongoro – Arusha – Optional Zanzibar Extension

  • Morning crater safari, spotting rhinos & flamingos
  • Drive back to Arusha, with optional transfer to Zanzibar
  • End of Safari or overnight in Arusha

Day 11: Arusha – Nairobi (Optional)

  • Morning shuttle to Nairobi (for international flights)
