Detailed itinerary of the 7 days Tanzania Wildlife and Chimp Trekking Safari (Day by Day)
DAY 1: Arrival at Gombe Stream National Park.
Very in the morning, you will leave Bujumbura or Nyanza lac to Kabonga border with Tanzania, board the boat to Gombe National Park, get lunch and there after forest walk, visit Kakombe waterfall, dinner and overnight at TANAPA rest house. F/B.
DAY 2: Chimpanzee trekking.
Enjoy your breakfast and transfer to the lake side where you will board the boat directly to Gombe Stream National park where chimpanzee trekking is done. The main attraction here is the chimpanzee families that live protected in the park’s boundaries. Visitors are briefed and take walks deep into the forest to observe and sit with the extraordinary primates for an entire morning. Gombe became well known for the conservation project started from Jane Goodall, who first arrived in Gombe in1960. Apart from chimpanzee viewing, many other species of primates live in Gombe Stream’s tropical forests, like velvet and colobus monkeys, baboons. After trekking these primates, you will be picked up by our guide who will transfer you to the hotel for lunch. Dinner and overnight at TANAPA rest house. F/B.
DAY 3: Transfer to Katavi.
Enjoy your breakfast and board the boat to Kigoma town with your packed lunch. Enjoy your enroute lunch and continue with your journey. Upon arrival, you will be picked up and transfer to Katavi National Park, Dinner and overnight at TANAPA rest house. F/B.
DAY 4: Full day game drive in Katavi.
After enjoying your delicious breakfast, you will drive to the park for a full day game drive with your packed lunch. Explore the Katavi floodplains and inner side of the park. The park is noted for its Miombo woodland and its home to Buffalo, elephant, Leopard, Lion and Zebra. Antelope species includes eland, impala, topi, roan and sable. Katavi also boasts Tanzania’s greatest concentration of hippo and crocodile. Dinner and overnight at TANAPA rest house F/B.
DAY 5: Game drive and afternoon nature walk.
Enjoy your breakfast and then get ready to go for a morning game drive. Drive back to the lodge, for your lunch and then in the evening you can take a nature walk in the national park following the ranger guide. Dinner and overnight at TANAPA rest house. F/B.
DAY 6: Transfer to Kigoma town.
Enjoy your breakfast and leave Katavi with pack-lunch and transfer to Kigoma town, dinner and overnight at Lake Tanganyika beach Hotel F/B.
DAY 7: Departure.
After enjoying your breakfast, transfer to Dr.Livingstone memorial centre at Ujiji, this is the village close to Kigoma town where, in 1858,Burton and Speke commenced their exploration of lake Tanganyika and where, in 1871, Henry Morton Stanley pronounced the famous words ‘Dr Livingstone. Proceed and there after transfer to Manyovu or Mabanda border with Burundi.
